LAHORE: In a welcome move for students, parents, and school administrations, the education boards, most notably the Lahore Board, have announced an extension in the registration deadline for the 9th-grade annual examinations, giving much-needed breathing room to thousands of candidates.
Educational institutions now have until July 20 to complete the registration process for Class 9 students aiming to sit in the 2026 board exams.
This extension comes as a relief to many schools that were struggling to finalize their student data and documentation on time.
The move also benefits countless students and families who, for various reasons, be it financial strain, administrative delays, or missing paperwork, were at risk of missing the initial deadline.
Now, they have a few extra weeks to ensure their children remain on track with their academic journey.
However, the window won’t stay open forever. Students who are still unable to register by July 20 will still get another chance, albeit with a late fee of Rs600. This grace period will run until August 4, after which no more applications will be entertained.
Teachers and school officials have welcomed the decision,
