With the mercury continuing to rise, Punjab authorities have ordered school closures to safeguard students. In one tragic case, a student in Fatehpur collapsed and lost his life while playing football.

In another, a young girl from Faqeerwali is said to have died from a heart attack, reportedly brought on by the extreme heat.

The unrelenting weather has sparked growing concern about student safety and the wider public’s safety throughout the region.
