Karachi weather: Hot, humid conditions expected, PMD warns

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted hot and humid conditions for Karachi through early next week, with maximum temperatures expected to range between 38°C and 40°C on Sunday and Monday, accompanied by humidity around 78%.

Meanwhile, other parts of the country, especially northern and central regions, are under dust and windstorm warnings.

Although Karachi will experience intense heat, it will not be directly affected by the westerly weather system impacting other regions. Residents are advised to stay hydrated and limit outdoor activities during the peak heat hours.

The PMD also mentioned that a shallow trough of a westerly wave is expected to affect northern Pakistan from Sunday night, while moisture from the Arabian Sea will start influencing the central and upper parts of the country by Monday.

This could lead to thunderstorms, hail, and gusty winds in areas like Punjab, Kashmir, and upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

Though Karachi will stay dry, evening coastal breezes may provide some relief, but no major temperature changes are expected in the coming days. The highest temperature in the city on Saturday was recorded at 39°C.
