The wounded were taken to the District Headquarters Hospital in Wana for medical care. Police officials said the blast destroyed the peace committee’s office.

Authorities have started an investigation into the attack, although no group has yet taken responsibility.

The incident occurs amid a rise in militant violence across Pakistan. Data from the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS) shows that terror incidents rose by 42% in January 2025 compared to the previous month.

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa was the hardest-hit region, recording 27 attacks in its settled districts and 19 in its tribal areas (former FATA), leading to heavy casualties.

Balochistan also faced an uptick in militant activities, with 24 attacks reported during the same period.
