The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has started repairs on the KPT flyover, resulting in its closure for a month, traffic police confirmed.
Barricades have been placed to restrict access, and the repairs will be completed in three phases, covering different parts of the flyover.
Traffic Section Officer (SO) Traffic reported heavy congestion in the area due to the closure, making travel challenging for commuters.
SO Wali Muhammad Mastoi said vehicles moving from Baloch Colony towards Qayyumabad are being rerouted under the flyover, while SO Zaman Town advised that those heading towards Defence should now detour via Qayyumabad Chowrangi.
Authorities assured that the repair work would be completed within a month, after which the flyover would reopen to traffic.
