Use a furnace to turn cobblestone into stone. Place cobblestone in the top slot and Place a fuel source (such as coal or wood) in the lower compartment. Wait for the stone to finish smelting. - Smelt stone into smooth stone
Next, take the stone you just made and smelt it again. Place it back into the top slot of the furnace with the fuel below. This second smelting process creates smooth stone. - Collect the smooth stone.
Once smelted, the smooth stone will appear in the furnace’s result box. Drag it into your inventory, and it’s ready to use in your builds.
