Gold crosses Rs350,000 mark, sets new record in Pakistan

Gold prices in Pakistan surged to a record high of Rs350,000 per tola on Thursday, crossing this landmark for the first time as global rates continued to climb, dealers reported.

According to figures shared by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of gold jumped by Rs2,000 per tola, while the rate for 10 grams rose by Rs1,715, now standing at Rs300,068.

This latest hike follows Wednesday’s steep increase of Rs8,600, which had already brought gold to its previous peak of Rs348,000 per tola.

Globally, gold prices also went up, with the APGJSA noting an international rate of $3,329 per ounce (including a $20 premium), showing a daily gain of $19.

Silver wasn’t left behind either, local prices saw a Rs59 rise, reaching Rs3,401 per tola.
