Sindh govt announces 30,000 scholarships for students

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has introduced a scholarship program for 30,000 students enrolled in 30 universities across the province.

In collaboration with Google and Teach Valley, this initiative aims to enhance students’ digital skills by offering Google Career Certificate courses, which they can complete online in 3 to 6 months.

At the launch event, CM Murad Ali Shah reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to promoting digital education in Sindh and highlighted the significance of offering students world-class training opportunities.

The program has reserved 30% of the scholarships for women and will give preference to students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Additionally, selected students will receive a monthly stipend ranging from Rs. 70,000 to Rs. 1.6 million.

To support scholarship applicants, officials have set up a ‘Honhaar Scholarship Help Desk,’ using WhatsApp, landline, and social media to address queries and concerns promptly.

Meanwhile, under Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s guidance, authorities have expanded the Honhaar Scholarship Program for students from Gilgit-Baltistan.

The help desk operates from 9 AM to 5 PM, offering support through the following channels:

CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif reiterated her commitment to ensuring students can focus entirely on their education, stating, “Every student of Punjab is like my own child. I want to provide them with every possible resource.”
