Lahore sees rainfall, cool weather at start of Ramadan

The holy month of Ramadan has started with a refreshing change for Lahore and nearby areas, as light showers have provided much-needed relief from the warm weather.

As per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the rain began in the pre-dawn hours of Sehri, continuing intermittently and creating a cooler, more pleasant atmosphere.

The rainfall is expected to continue for the next couple of days, with the forecast expecting showers to continue across Punjab and other regions. As per the report

In Lahore, temperatures are forecasted to remain between 13°C and 24°C, offering a comfortable environment for fasting during the day.

Meanwhile, the hill stations of Murree and Galyat are likely to witness both rain and snowfall, enhancing the natural beauty of the region.

To manage any potential flooding, the Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) has issued an alert, instructing its staff to be on standby for water drainage and emergency response.

Previously, the PMD had predicted that this weather system would continue to bring rain across Punjab, with showers expected in Lahore and several districts on Thursday and Friday.

Additionally, cool winds accompanying the rain will likely cause snowfall in mountainous areas, while Lahore’s temperatures are expected to range from a minimum of 12°C to a maximum of 23°C.

The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has advised residents and tourists to stay updated on weather conditions, avoid unnecessary travel, and contact their helpline at 1129 in case of emergencies.
