Zonal Ruet-e-Hilal committees will hold separate meetings in their respective areas, but the final decision on moon sighting will come from the central body. The Ministry of Religious Affairs will supervise all necessary arrangements.

Pakistan has long faced differences in moon sightings, leading to varying dates for Ramadan and Eid, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa compared to the rest of the country.

By moving the committee’s meeting to Peshawar, the government hopes to bridge these differences and ensure a coordinated observance of the holy month.

Meanwhile, Lahore is preparing to launch 10 model bazaars across the city to facilitate Ramadan shopping.

These markets will offer quality goods at discounted prices under the supervision of the district administration, as reported by Express News.

A recent meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Lahore, Syed Musa Raza, finalized the arrangements for these Ramadan bazaars.

Each model bazaar will have 10 shops, with seven stalls dedicated to fruits, vegetables, pulses, spices, and other essential items, while three stalls will focus on meat products.

In an effort to make shopping more accessible, separate counters for women, senior citizens, and regular customers. This initiative is expected to enhance accessibility and comfort, allowing everyone to shop efficiently during the holy month.
