Karachi weather update: Rainfall expected this weekend

Karachi: Karachi and parts of Sindh are expected to experience rainfall of varying intensities on Friday night, as per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

A shallow westerly wave is likely to appear in the upper regions of Pakistan starting tonight. This weather pattern is expected to bring mainly cold and dry conditions across most districts of Sindh on Friday night and Saturday.

On Friday night, gusty winds are expected to cause rain in Sukkur, Khairpur, Sanghar, and surrounding areas. Karachi, Umerkot, and Tharparkar might see light drizzles.

The minimum temperature in Karachi is predicted to range between 09-11°C in the weekend, similar to Hyderabad’s forecast for Saturday and Sunday.

Over the past 24 hours, Karachi, Hyderabad, and several Sindh districts experienced cold and dry weather with fog in upper regions.

Mithi was the coldest spot in Sindh, with temperatures falling to 02°C. In Karachi, the minimum temperature recorded was 10°C with 25% humidity in the evening, while Hyderabad recorded 11°C with a relative humidity of 35%.
