Government to launch PayPal type payment system in Pakistan

Finance minister emphasises the IT sector’s reproving role as a swiftly expanding industry in Pakistan.

It is most likely anticipated that the Federal government of Pakistan will make PayPal and other similar payment methods known to boost export allowances for the IT department.

This decision was brought about during an executive meeting of the Prime Minister’s Committee on IT Export Remittances at the Finance Division, led by the Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Muhammad Aurangzeb.

The finance minister exhibited the IT sector’s critical role as a rapidly growing industry in Pakistan’s economic growth.

The meeting’s members articulated using the Roshan Digital Account to ease out payments from all IT companies and freelancers, which were important for Pakistan’s economic development as well as its digital economy.

The discussion also stressed the need for admittance to international payment gateways like PayPal and the like, which are currently not available in Pakistan.

In addition to this, the witnesses emphasized the importance of creating likely payment solutions within the vicinity to empower our IT professionals and freelancers.

This move of the government is based upon the idea of enhancing Pakistan’s global competence and creating a more favourable environment for IT businesses to dispatch their earnings.

To achieve this milestone, the government is taking into account simple procedures and consistent tax exemptions for freelancers as well as addressing issues related to remote workers.
