The Punjab government has announced long-awaited relief for over 300,000 teachers and government employees by issuing orders to complete pending promotions across the province.
An official notification from the Directorate of Public Instruction (Elementary), Punjab, stated that all eligible employees in grades 1 to 16 will be promoted within one month. Promotion orders have been sent to the Chief Executive Officers of all districts with instructions to ensure timely implementation.
The DPI Elementary Punjab has also directed all concerned authorities to prioritize clearing long-pending promotion files.
Officials have been warned that disciplinary action will be taken against anyone causing unnecessary delays, negligence, or failure to process cases within the given timeframe.
Teachers and government employees have welcomed the announcement, calling it a major relief for thousands whose promotions had been delayed for years. They said the move will not only address long-standing grievances but also restore confidence among the workforce.
