Karachi weather: Light rain & high humidity expected

KARACHI: Light showers are expected in Karachi and some parts of Sindh on Thursday evening and Friday, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department.

A seasonal low pressure in northeast Balochistan, along with monsoon currents and a westerly wave over the upper regions of the country, is influencing the weather.

Due to these conditions, most areas of Sindh will experience hot and humid weather, though isolated rains may occur in Tharparkar, Umerkot, Mirpurkhas, and some coastal locations during the evening or night.

On Friday, chances of rain remain for Tharparkar, Umerkot, and coastal belts, while the rest of the province will continue to face muggy weather.

Karachi is expected to see maximum temperatures between 32°C and 34°C on Friday and 33°C to 35°C on Saturday. In Hyderabad, temperatures will likely range from 37°C to 39°C on Friday and could rise to 40°C on Saturday.

Over the past 24 hours, humid weather continued across most of Sindh. Dadu and Nawabshah recorded the highest temperature at 42°C, while Mohenjo-Daro and Sukkur saw highs of 40°C.

Karachi’s maximum temperature was 32°C with morning humidity at 75 percent. Hyderabad recorded 38°C with similar morning humidity.
