A cockroach was discovered in a meal served at the National Assembly cafeteria on Tuesday, according to the report.
The incident occurred during a meeting of women parliamentarians and was confirmed by PPP lawmaker Dr. Shahida Rehmani. MNA Naeema Kishwar noted that this was not the first such case, as cockroaches had been found in meals before.
Lawmakers voiced strong concern over the repeated incidents, with Naeema Kishwar remarking, “We are expressing our concerns over unhygienic food being served to the people, but we are also being served unhygienic food.”
In response, Speaker Ayaz Sadiq assured the assembly that a fair investigation would be carried out.
