LAHORE: Schools in Lahore will follow new timings starting August 18, once the summer holidays come to an end.
The School Education Department has issued a notification outlining the schedule for both public and private schools from April 2025 to October 2025.
All schools are required to follow the new timings strictly, and any violation may lead to legal action by the Punjab government.
For schools operating in a single shift, classes will start at 7:30 am and end at 1:00 pm from Monday to Thursday. On Fridays, school will close earlier at 11:30 am.
In double shift schools, the morning shift will run from 7:30 am to 1:00 pm from Monday to Thursday and will end at 11:30 am on Fridays.
The evening shift will begin at 2:00 pm and end at 6:00 pm from Monday to Thursday, and will operate from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm on Fridays.
In Sindh, all public and private schools are scheduled to reopen on August 1, following the conclusion of summer vacation on July 31.
The Sindh School Education and Literacy Department has also released school timings for primary, secondary, and higher secondary institutions.
For single-shift primary schools in Sindh, classes will run from 8:00 am to 1:30 pm from Monday to Thursday and Saturday, and will end at 12:00 noon on Friday.
In double shift primary schools, the first shift will operate from 7:30 am to 12:30 pm from Monday to Thursday and Saturday, while on Friday it will close at 12:00 noon. The second shift will begin at 1:00 pm and end at 5:00 pm from Monday to Saturday.
For single-shift secondary and higher secondary schools, the schedule will be 8:00 am to 1:30 pm from Monday to Thursday and Saturday, and 8:00 am to 12:00 noon on Friday.
Double shift secondary schools will run their first shift from 7:30 am to 12:30 pm from Monday to Thursday and Saturday, and from 7:30 am to 10:30 am on Friday. The second shift will be held from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
