To make it easier for taxpayers to deposit government duties and taxes over the counter, all commercial banks, including National Bank of Pakistan branches handling customs collections, will observe extended working hours on Saturday, January 31, 2026. These branches will remain open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Following a request from the Federal Board of Revenue, the State Bank of Pakistan has instructed banks to keep the relevant branches open on January 31 for as long as needed to facilitate special clearing of government transactions carried out through NIFT.
Banks have also been directed to ensure uninterrupted operation of online payment services, including internet banking, mobile apps, ATMs and other digital platforms, so taxpayers can conveniently pay government duties and taxes online.
