CDA issues notice against illegal housing project in Islamabad

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has served a show-cause notice to Nilore Homes, an unapproved housing scheme located in Zone IV of Islamabad, ordering the removal of illegal structures and an immediate halt to unauthorized land use.

The notice, issued by Director Regional Planning Ejaz Ul Hassan under Sections 49-C and 46-B of the CDA Ordinance 1960, instructs the scheme’s sponsor to demolish all unlawful constructions within 15 days.

Failure to comply will result in enforcement action, including police intervention and recovery of demolition expenses from the sponsor.

According to the CDA, a recent inspection revealed that development and construction activities were underway without the required approvals, violating the CDA Ordinance 1960, the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Zoning Regulations 1992, and the ICT Building Control Regulations 2020.

The authority noted that despite repeated public notices issued between 2014 and 2025, urging unapproved housing and farm schemes to submit layout plans for regularization, Nilore Homes has not responded or applied for approval.

Reaffirming its commitment to preserving Islamabad’s planned structure and environmental standards, the CDA warned that strict action will be taken against all illegal housing and farm schemes operating without authorization, particularly those in Zone IV.
