Govt to shut all markets and wedding halls amid weekend lockdown

The government is considering shutting down markets and marriage halls during the upcoming weekend lockdown. The proposal has been under discussion for the past few days.

According to sources, the plan has reached its final stage and may be announced within the next two to three days.

The proposal focuses on limiting public activity while also bringing changes to workplace routines. Officials are trying to keep economic activity going while cutting down fuel and electricity use.

If approved, markets and shopping malls will close by 9:30 pm. Wedding halls will be allowed to host up to 200 guests, with a one-dish policy and a closing time of 10 pm. These steps are meant to reduce large gatherings and lower energy consumption at night.
