Asia Cup 2025 final: Pakistan aims to beat India today

DUBAI: Pakistan will look to turn the tables when they take on arch-rivals India in the ACC Men’s T20 Asia Cup 2025 final in Dubai on Sunday.

India, who won the title in 2016, have remained unbeaten throughout the eight-team event, including two victories over Pakistan, first in the group stage and then again in the Super Fours.

Their dominance continued with a dramatic super over win against Sri Lanka on Friday, though concerns arose when Hardik Pandya and Abhishek Sharma left the field due to fitness issues.

India’s bowling coach Morne Morkel reassured that both players are under close observation, noting that Hardik walked off holding his hamstring after dismissing Kusal Mendis, while Abhishek clutched his thigh earlier in the innings.

Substitutes Rinku Singh, Shivam Dube, and Jitesh Sharma stepped in, but Morkel clarified, “Hardik had cramps. He will be assessed tonight and again tomorrow morning before we take a call.”

With limited time before the final, the Indian management is prioritizing rest and recovery for the two players.
