Jinnah International Airport in Karachi has been placed on high alert as authorities increase security measures in view of rising safety concerns and regional tensions.
Sources say additional personnel from the Rangers, police and the Airport Security Force have been deployed on major roads leading to and from the airport. Security checks at entry and exit points have been tightened, with thorough inspection of vehicles and individuals heading towards the premises.
Officials have stated that only passengers with valid tickets will be allowed inside the airport building. The public has been urged to avoid unnecessary visits to help prevent congestion and allow security operations to run smoothly.

Stronger security arrangements have also been put in place at the headquarters of the Pakistan Airports Authority and the Civil Aviation Authority, both located near the airport.
Entry into the Civil Aviation Colony has been restricted, and only authorised employees and residents are being allowed access. Movement from PIA Township towards the airport, the head office of Pakistan International Airlines, and nearby aviation offices has also been limited as part of enhanced perimeter control.
Passengers have been advised to reach the airport well before their scheduled departure times, as strict screening on access roads and at terminal entrances could lead to delays.
In a related step, the Sindh government has introduced limits on pick and drop services at the airport. Only two people per passenger will be permitted in designated areas to reduce crowding and improve safety around the terminals.
