High security alert imposed in Islamabad, leaves cancelled

Islamabad has been put on high security alert, with tight monitoring at all entry and exit points of the city. Long lines of vehicles have been reported, particularly around iftar and suhoor. Authorities have advised residents to avoid unnecessary movement.

The Inspector General of Police Islamabad, issued an office order stating that supervisory officers, including DIGs, SSPs, SPs, DSPs and SHOs will not be allowed to take leave until further notice.

All previously approved leaves have been cancelled with immediate effect, and officers have been directed to return to their respective units without delay.

The move is intended to maintain full police preparedness in view of the heightened security situation in the federal capital. The directive applies to all personnel, and only genuine emergencies cleared by the competent authority will be considered for exemption.
