Eight children injured as school van catches fire in Karachi

Eight children suffered serious burn injuries when a school van caught fire in Karachi on Monday morning, as per the source.

According to police, the fire broke out after the vehicle’s engine overheated. Rescue teams and police reached the spot immediately after receiving the report and shifted the injured children to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. Hospital officials said the condition of two children was critical.

Water tanker crushes family

In another incident, a man, his wife, and their child were severely injured after being hit by a water tanker in Karachi. The accident took place near Noorani Kabab House on Shahrah-e-Qaideen.

A spokesperson for the Eastern police said that following the accident, an enraged crowd set several vehicles on fire in protest against the tanker driver. Police and rescue teams quickly brought the blaze under control and restored traffic flow.

The injured were later moved to Jinnah Hospital for treatment. Authorities also cleared the tanker from the road to ease traffic congestion.

The driver of the water tanker fled the scene, while police have registered a case and launched a search operation to arrest him.
