The Met Office has warned that strong monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal are expected to enter the northern parts of the country from August 29. A westerly system is also likely to reach the upper and central regions from August 30.
Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan
Heavy rainfall with thunderstorms is predicted across Kashmir, including Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Kotli, Bhimber, Mirpur, and adjoining areas from August 29 to September 2.
In Gilgit-Baltistan, showers with occasional heavy falls are likely in Diamir, Astore, Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit, Ghizer, and nearby valleys from August 30 to September 1.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
Most districts, including Chitral, Swat, Dir, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Peshawar, Mardan, Bannu, Waziristan, Tank, and Dera Ismail Khan, are likely to experience rain and thunderstorms from August 29 to September 1, with heavy downpours at some places.
Punjab and Islamabad
From August 29 to September 2, widespread rain with thunderstorms is expected in Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Murree, Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Faisalabad, Sargodha, and several other districts of central Punjab. Southern districts such as D.G. Khan, Multan, Bahawalpur, Rajanpur, and Rahim Yar Khan may also see rainfall and thunderstorms between the night of August 29 and September 2.
Sindh
Rain and thunderstorms are likely in Tharparkar, Mithi, Sukkur, Larkana, Jacobabad, Dadu, and Umerkot on August 30 and 31.
Balochistan
Areas including Barkhan, Musakhel, Zhob, Loralai, Khuzdar, Kalat, and Sibbi are expected to receive rain and thunderstorms from August 30 to September 1, with heavy falls in some places.
