Sindh CM inaugurates new ICU at The Kidney Centre Karachi

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Thursday inaugurated a newly set up Intensive Care Unit at The Kidney Centre in Karachi. The facility has been established with the support of the Sindh government.

After the inauguration, the chief minister toured various sections of the hospital and was given a detailed briefing on the upgraded critical care unit.

Officials told him that the new ICU is fitted with modern medical equipment designed to strengthen emergency response and provide specialized treatment to patients facing kidney related complications.

Addressing the ceremony, Murad Ali Shah reiterated the provincial government’s resolve to improve healthcare facilities across Sindh. He stressed the need for strong public private partnerships to expand access to advanced medical treatment, especially for underprivileged patients who require dialysis and renal care.

Provincial Health Minister Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho, Chairperson Friends of The Kidney Centre Marriana Karim and Board Chairman Adnan Afridi were also present at the event. The hospital administration said the new ICU would increase patient capacity and ensure timely care for those in critical condition.

The Kidney Centre is widely known for providing specialized kidney treatment services in Sindh. The addition of the modern ICU is expected to ease the burden on other major public hospitals in Karachi and help improve survival rates among critically ill renal patients.

Officials further stated that the Sindh government would continue to invest in healthcare projects to make quality medical services accessible to people across the province.
