Islamabad, Rawalpindi weather update: Strong winds expected

ISLAMABAD: Gusty winds and partly cloudy weather are expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and various parts of Pakistan on Sunday evening, night, and Monday.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), continental air is prevailing over most parts of the country, while a trough of westerly wave is affecting northern regions.

Under these conditions, the twin cities and several other areas will likely experience gusty winds and partly cloudy weather on Sunday evening, night, and Monday.

Meanwhile, light rain accompanied by gusty winds is expected at isolated locations in Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and nearby regions during this period.

Temperature Forecast:

Islamabad’s minimum temperature is expected to range between 08°C and 10°C on Monday and Tuesday.

Rawalpindi’s minimum temperature is forecasted to be between 10°C and 12°C on Monday and Tuesday.

Over the past 24 hours, rain and gusty winds were reported in the twin cities, as well as at isolated locations in Punjab, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Leh recorded the coldest temperature in Pakistan, dropping to -5°C. The minimum temperature in Astore and Malam Jabba was recorded at -1°C, while Gupis at 0°C.

In Islamabad, the minimum temperature was recorded at 10°C, with morning humidity at 84%.

In Rawalpindi, the minimum temperature was recorded at 12°C, with morning humidity at 66%.
