Australia imposes temporary travel restrictions on Iranian citizens

Australia has put in place temporary travel restrictions for Iranian nationals who hold visitor visas, the government confirmed on Monday.

The Australian Minister for Home Affairs said the step is designed to safeguard the integrity of the country’s immigration system.

Officials noted concerns that, given ongoing tensions in the region, some Iranian visa holders might not leave Australia on time.
