UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed to visit Pakistan on Dec 26

UAE President and Ruler of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan is scheduled to arrive in Islamabad on Friday, December 26, according to a report on Wednesday.

Sources said that during his visit, the UAE president will meet key Pakistani leadership, including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Discussions are expected to focus on bilateral matters and strengthening relations between Pakistan and the UAE.

Earlier on Tuesday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met UAE Ambassador Salem Mohammed Salem Al Bawab Al Zaabi, who paid a courtesy call on him at the Prime Minister’s House in Islamabad.

The prime minister welcomed Ambassador Al Zaabi and congratulated him on his recent appointment, according to a news release issued by the Prime Minister’s Office.

He highlighted the strong and brotherly ties between Pakistan and the UAE, noting that relations between the two countries have been built over decades on mutual respect, close cooperation,and lasting friendship. SAPM Tariq Fatemi and Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch were also present at the meeting.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif conveyed his best wishes to the UAE leadership and said he was looking forward to the upcoming visit of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to Pakistan.

Expressing satisfaction with the level of bilateral trade, the prime minister stressed the importance of further enhancing economic cooperation, including trade and investment. He identified energy, minerals, information technology, railways, and aviation as priority areas for deeper collaboration and invited greater UAE investment to support Pakistan’s economic growth and stability.

The prime minister also acknowledged the UAE’s continued support for Pakistan, particularly during difficult times, as well as its contributions to humanitarian and development efforts.

Ambassador Al Zaabi thanked the prime minister for the meeting and conveyed greetings and good wishes from President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. He reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with Pakistan and expressed readiness to explore new areas of cooperation for the benefit of both nations.
