Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced a one month salary bonus for Christian government employees to mark the occasion of Christmas.
The announcement was made during a Christmas celebration held at the Alhamra Arts Council in Lahore. Provincial Minister for Information and Culture Azma Bukhari attended the event as the guest of honor.
During the ceremony, gifts were distributed to Christian employees on behalf of the chief minister, and participants also took part in cutting the Christmas cake.
Maryam Nawaz expressed solidarity with the Christian community and said, “We share equally in the happiness of our Christian brothers and sisters during this festive season. Minorities are very close to the heart of the Chief Minister.”
Azma Bukhari also addressed the gathering and said, “Christian employees are our pride, and their services are commendable. The Punjab government is committed to the protection and welfare of minorities and is utilizing all available resources for their betterment.”
