The Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has announced a new nationwide winter gas schedule for 2025 to tackle increasing demand amid an ongoing gas shortage.
According to the plan, domestic consumers will now get gas only during specific hours of the day. The updated SNGPL winter gas timings for 2025 are as follows:
- Morning: 5:30 AM – 8:30 AM
- Afternoon: 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM
- Evening: 5:30 PM – 8:30 PM
This schedule will be implemented in Lahore, Islamabad, and all regions connected to the SNGPL network. Outside these hours, gas pressure will stay low or supply may be temporarily cut off.
Officials stated that the move is intended to ensure a fair distribution of limited gas reserves between urban and rural households during the peak winter season.
Citizens have been advised to plan their cooking and heating activities within the set hours to minimize inconvenience.
SNGPL clarified that the schedule is temporary and may be revised depending on weather patterns and supply conditions. The company also urged consumers to use gas responsibly and report any instances of gas theft or unauthorised connections.
The new schedule reflects SNGPL’s efforts to manage scarce gas resources and maintain balanced distribution during the upcoming winter months.
