Punjab declares public holidays on December 25 & 26

The Punjab government has declared public holidays on December 25 and 26 to mark Quaid-e-Azam Day and Boxing Day, with the second day reserved for the Christian community.

According to a report aired by 24NewsHD TV, official notifications have been issued confirming the two holidays. December 25 will be observed across Punjab to commemorate the birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan. December 26 will be observed as a special holiday for Christians on the occasion of Boxing Day.

Earlier, the Sindh government had also announced public holidays on December 25 and December 26, 2023. The decision was shared on December 19 to mark Quaid-e-Azam Day and Christmas.

As reported by 24NewsHD, the Services, General Administration and Coordination Department of the Sindh government released formal notifications in this regard.

The notification clarified that the public holiday on December 25 would apply to all officers, autonomous and semi-autonomous bodies, corporations, and local councils working under the administrative control of the Sindh government, except for departments providing essential services.
