Punjab Minister for Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Khawaja Salman Rafique said the hospital will be established in DG Khan so cancer patients from South Punjab can receive treatment closer to home instead of travelling to larger cities.

He also said the provincial government is working on several major healthcare projects and investing billions of rupees to strengthen cancer treatment facilities across Punjab.

Another major project, the Nawaz Sharif Cancer Hospital in Lahore, is already being built for Rs74.92 billion. After completion, the DG Khan hospital is expected to become one of the leading cancer treatment centres in South Punjab.
