Karachi: A fire broke out on Thursday in the debris of Gul Plaza, according to the source TV. Rescue teams were trying to control the flames until the last reports were received.
Meanwhile, relatives of 88 missing individuals gathered outside Gul Plaza on MA Jinnah Road on Thursday and attempted to enter the collapsed building in search of their loved ones. Police and Rangers stopped them from going inside due to safety concerns.
The families urged authorities to intensify efforts to trace those still missing.
An updated list of missing persons was displayed at the DC South Office. The earlier list carried the names of 88 people, while the revised list includes 77 names, as some victims’ bodies have now been recovered and handed over to their families.
The updated list also carries contact numbers of the families of the missing individuals.
