Pakistan Railways on Friday launched the upgraded rake of the 125-Up and 126-Down Lasani Express, featuring modern passenger coaches on the Lahore–Narowal–Sialkot route.
At the inauguration, Additional General Manager Mechanical Yousaf Khan said the upgrade is part of the railways’ plan to modernize operations under the guidance of Federal Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi. He added that the new rake will provide safer, more comfortable, and higher-quality travel for passengers.
Khan noted that thousands of daily commuters between Lahore and Sialkot will benefit from the new coaches. He also mentioned that Pakistan Railways plans to introduce more modern rakes for other trains in the coming months as part of its broader improvement strategy.
Following the ceremony, the AGM inspected the upgraded rake and met with passengers. He instructed officials to enhance onboard services, improve seating comfort, and maintain strict cleanliness standards.
The inauguration was attended by a large number of railway officers, staff, and passengers.
