Balochistan schools to remain closed for 2.5 months

With winter setting in and school exams beginning across Pakistan, activity in educational institutions has picked up. Punjab and Balochistan have issued their winter break schedules, with Balochistan announcing a long holiday period of two and a half months.

All government schools in Balochistan will stay closed for this extended break, starting from December 16, 2025, as declared by the education department. Meanwhile, exams for students from grades one to seven are underway in Chaman, and the grade eight board exam will begin on November 24, 2025.

Winter Vacations in Punjab

Punjab has set its winter holidays from December 23, 2025, to January 11, 2026. Schools will resume classes on January 13, 2026. At the same time, rumors had circulated about an early closure of schools due to smog, but the provincial authorities have stated that no such decision has been made so far.

Holiday Announcement in KPK

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, District Mansehra has declared a short break in all government and private schools. These institutions will remain closed for three days due to the upcoming by-election in the NA-18 constituency. The district administration announced holidays from November 22 to November 24, 2025.

According to the official notice, the decision has been taken “to avoid any untoward situation,” and all schools will stay shut for three days. The by-election in the constituency is scheduled for November 23, 2025.
