The Punjab government has revised the dates for Lahore’s Basant festival, which will now be celebrated on March 12, 13 and 14, 2027.
The provincial cabinet has approved the new schedule, replacing the dates announced earlier.
According to sources, the Lahore deputy commissioner had sent a proposal to the Punjab Home Department seeking a change in the festival dates. The department then forwarded the proposal to the provincial cabinet for approval.
The cabinet has now given the go-ahead for the revised schedule, confirming a three-day celebration in Lahore in March 2027.

Earlier, the Punjab government had planned to hold Basant celebrations from January 29 to February 7, 2027, spanning 10 days. However, the plan has since been changed, and the festival will now take place over three days in mid-March.
With the cabinet’s approval, Lahore’s Basant festival is officially scheduled for March 12 to 14, 2027.
