A newborn girl died in Karachi on Monday after her father allegedly threw her from the third floor of a building.
Witnesses said the infant died on the spot after falling to the ground, and citizens immediately informed the police.
Law enforcement reached the site soon after and detained both parents for questioning. Officials said an investigation is underway to determine the motive behind the tragic act.
In another disturbing case, a landowner in Sharaqpur Sharif, Punjab, allegedly threw a young boy into a brick kiln after the child asked him for food.
The boy suffered severe burns and was taken to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, where doctors described his condition as critical.
The boy’s mother told police the man became furious when her son asked for a corncob. Authorities said they have launched an investigation and are working to arrest the suspect.
