Good news for the country’s economy as Mari Energy has announced a discovery of oil and gas in Sindh, according to the report on Thursday.
Mari Energy informed the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) about this significant development through an official letter.
The company announced a major find of gas and crude oil from the Shams-1 well in the Mari D&PL block located in Ghotki district of Sindh.
The well has revealed large reserves, producing about 47.98 million cubic feet of gas per day and 64 barrels of crude oil daily.
Drilling at the Shams-1 well began on January 30, 2026, reaching a depth of approximately 3,075 meters. During testing, the well pressure was recorded at 2,404 PSIG. Mari Energy is the 100 percent operator and owner of this block.
