Local holiday announced in Punjab district on August 23

The Kasur district administration has announced a local holiday on Saturday, August 23, to mark the 268th annual Urs of the revered Sufi poet Hazrat Baba Bulleh Shah (RA).

As per the official notification, all government offices, schools, and local departments will remain closed on the day.

The Urs celebrations will begin on August 22 and continue until August 24, with devotees from across the country expected to join the gatherings, featuring recitations, Sufi poetry, and traditional rituals.

The annual Urs of Baba Bulleh Shah is considered one of Punjab’s most important cultural and spiritual events, attracting large crowds of followers to Kasur each year.
