Pakistan has earned another entry in the Guinness Book of World Records after Karachi martial artist Wajahat Yar Khan achieved a remarkable feat by performing 126 push-ups at a 180 degree angle within one minute.
The achievement broke the previous record held by Britain’s Alex Golding and has been officially confirmed by Guinness World Records. Speaking to City 21, Wajahat said the success came after ten months of strict and focused training.
He attributed the milestone to constant effort and strong backing from his family, especially his parents. He shared that the journey was not easy, as he suffered several injuries during training and even while attempting to break the record, but he stayed committed to his target.
Wajahat added that he is already preparing for another record attempt and hopes to further highlight Pakistan’s presence in international martial arts.
He also pointed out the limited support available for martial artists in the country, saying that greater encouragement from the authorities could help athletes reach even higher levels.
