Qatar has announced a seven-day public holiday for government employees on the occasion of Eidul Fitr 2026, offering an extended break as Ramadan comes to an end.
According to a statement issued by the Amiri Diwan, the holiday will be observed from March 17 to March 23, while offices will reopen on March 24.
The decision applies to all ministries, public bodies, and other state institutions. Educational institutions are also likely to follow a similar timetable, allowing students to benefit from the longer holiday period.
Employees in the private sector are usually granted a minimum of three days of paid leave, although some companies may choose to match their holidays with the public sector schedule. The Qatar Central Bank is expected to announce separate timings for banks and financial organisations.
