Another Pakistani citizen killed in UAE missile attack amid regional tensions

A Pakistani national has died following recent missile attacks in the United Arab Emirates, authorities confirmed.

The UAE’s air defense managed to intercept a ballistic missile, but debris fell in the Bani Yas area of Abu Dhabi, causing the fatality.

This raises the total number of deaths from the recent attacks in the UAE to seven. Among the victims, three Pakistani citizens have lost their lives, one in Dubai and two in Abu Dhabi, highlighting the growing impact of regional tensions on expatriate communities.

On February 28, a Pakistani citizen in the UAE was killed when debris fell during the interception of an Iranian missile amid retaliatory strikes.

Another Pakistani later died on March 8 in Dubai’s Al Barsha area after debris from a missile interception struck a vehicle. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed sorrow over the losses and directed authorities to facilitate the repatriation of the bodies.

The same day, a fisherman from Gwadar, Muhammad Tayyab of Balochistan, was killed in Iranian waters when debris from an intercepted missile struck his boat. Separately, on March 6, falling debris in Abu Dhabi injured six Pakistani and Nepalese nationals amid rising drone and missile activity in the UAE.

The escalation follows February 28 US and Israeli strikes on Iran, after which Iranian missiles and drones targeted Israel and other strategic locations in the region, including Gulf states, putting civilians and expatriates at heightened risk.
