The Government of Sindh has announced revised office timings for the upcoming Holy Month of Ramadan 1447 A.H.
The new schedule will apply to all government offices, autonomous bodies, semi-autonomous organizations, corporations, and local councils under Sindh’s administrative control, except for essential services.
According to the notification issued on February 17, 2026, offices operating five days a week will work from Monday to Thursday between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm, while on Fridays, they will close early at 1:00 pm.
For offices that operate six days a week, including Saturdays, the timings from Monday to Thursday and Saturday will be 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, with Friday hours remaining from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.
The reduction in working hours is intended to accommodate the fasting schedules of employees and help them maintain a balance between professional responsibilities and religious observance during Ramadan.
This decision is consistent with similar adjustments made in previous years to ensure smooth government functioning while respecting the holy month.
As Ramadan 2026 approaches, astronomers and religious authorities are closely monitoring the skies for the sighting of the crescent moon, which marks the start of the holy month across Pakistan.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted that the Ramadan moon sighting is likely on the evening of Wednesday, February 18, making the first fast expected on Thursday, February 19.
Officials added that the new moon of Ramadan 1447 AH will be born on February 17 at 5:15 PM. Based on astronomical calculations and lunar positioning, visibility conditions are expected to be favorable across most parts of the country.
