LAHORE: Punjab’s education authorities have decided to introduce board examinations for Class 5 and Class 8, with the first session scheduled for mid-February 2026.
For the first time, government schools in Rawalpindi will also conduct these exams. Admission forms will be accepted between November 3 and November 15, 2025. According to the schedule, Class 5 exams will begin on February 9, while Class 8 exams will be held from February 16 to February 24.
As per the announcement, the results will be released on March 31, 2026. The examinations will be organized by the Punjab Education Curriculum Training and Assessment Authority (PECTA), aimed at better preparing students for future academic challenges.

While the provincial authorities are finalizing arrangements for these exams, private schools remain cautious and have raised concerns about the new policy.
