A Khyber Pakhtunkhwa rescue Mi-17 helicopter crashed in Sokai near Chengai Banda, claiming three lives.
Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah said the aircraft was headed to Bajaur for relief work when the crash took place. According to the KP Chief Minister, contact with the helicopter was lost amid bad weather.
Rescue teams have reached the site, while another government helicopter is continuing relief operations in Buner district.
In a separate development, flash floods in Bajaur’s Jabrarai area of Salarzai Tehsil have caused severe destruction, sweeping away roads, bridges, and homes.
Rescue officials confirmed that 21 bodies have been recovered from different incidents, with seven people still missing.
Three injured victims were given first aid before being moved to the hospital, while search efforts for the missing are ongoing.
