Islamabad Police announces traffic control plan for Eid ul Fitr 2026

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Traffic Police has launched a large-scale city-wide operation to ensure smooth traffic flow and convenience for citizens during the Eid shopping rush.

A total of 470 traffic officers have been deployed at major markets across the city to maintain order and take strict action against dangerous activities such as drifting, wheelies, and reckless driving. Authorities warned that anyone putting public safety at risk will face immediate consequences.

A police spokesperson confirmed that while limited enforcement will be visible in the markets before Eid, citizens will still be provided with awareness and facilities to make their shopping experience safe and convenient.

“Islamabad Traffic Police is fully committed to sharing in the citizens’ happiness, taking every possible measure to ensure their convenience,” the spokesperson said.

Citizens are advised to park only in designated areas and cooperate fully with traffic authorities. Any incidents of reckless driving, wheelies, or drifting can be reported immediately by calling 1915 or 15.

With the city on high alert, authorities hope that this Eid will remain safe, festive, and free from incidents if everyone follows the rules.
