NDMA issues advisory as rain, snowfall expected until December 18

The National Disaster Management Authority has forecast that a western weather system, bringing rain and gusty winds, will enter Pakistan today and continue until December 18, 2025, according to a report on Sunday.

Details shared by the authority indicate that both the eastern and western mountainous regions are likely to receive rain along with snowfall.

Light rain and snow are also expected in the western and eastern parts of Balochistan. The NDMA has issued an advisory to alert the public and relevant departments.

Earlier, the authority had also predicted that another rain-bearing system would move into the country from December 19.

Due to the impact of the current system, drizzle is expected in Rawalpindi and Islamabad, while northern areas may see rain and snowfall.

It is worth noting that the northern parts of the country are already experiencing severe cold conditions. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has forecast two spells of rain and snowfall for Azad Jammu and Kashmir, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Gilgit-Baltistan.
