Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced a special three-day electric bus service to help participants attending the upcoming Raiwind religious congregation.
During a meeting with members of the Tablighi Jamaat’s central consultative council on Monday, the Chief Minister said the buses will run between Lahore railway station, the airport, and Raiwind throughout the event.
She directed the provincial administration to make thorough arrangements, instructing senior officials, including the Deputy Commissioner, CCPO, DIG, and CTO, to personally review all preparations.
Maryam Nawaz also ordered road repairs and patchwork on routes leading to Raiwind, along with the reconstruction of three major roads in the area. A cleanliness campaign will begin on November 1, which will include sanitation work and rosewater spraying.
The Tablighi Jamaat delegation praised the electric bus plan and commended the Chief Minister’s public welfare projects, particularly the initiative to build 90,000 homes across Punjab.
Speaking at the meeting, CM Maryam Nawaz said that serving the people is an act of worship for her and asked for prayers for Pakistan’s peace, prosperity, and for those affected by recent floods.
