Govt to provide free SIM cards for pilgrims in Saudi Arabia

The federal government has announced a new facilitation step for Hajj pilgrims, stating that free Saudi SIM cards will be provided to all pilgrims during their stay in the Kingdom.

According to officials, these SIM cards will be issued at no cost and will serve as a dedicated means of communication throughout the Hajj period.

Pilgrims staying for up to 40 days will receive a package that includes 600 local and international minutes, along with 40GB of internet data. A shorter duration package will offer 300 minutes for local and international calls and 25GB of data. The call minutes can be used for both incoming and outgoing calls.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs has advised pilgrims not to buy any extra SIM cards, explaining that only one official SIM will be issued per passport. Authorities also warned that purchasing another SIM could lead to cancellation of the government-issued SIM.

The ministry added that recharge codes will be available at accommodation counters, and pilgrims will be able to top up their balance on payment once their data or credit is used up.
