Gold prices in Pakistan continued their upward trend on Wednesday, hitting a new record high in the local market.
Data released by the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association showed that the price of gold per tola rose by Rs4,300 to reach Rs486,162. The rate of 10 grams of gold also increased by Rs3,687, bringing it to Rs416,805.
A day earlier, on Tuesday, gold had closed at Rs481,862 per tola after gaining Rs900 during the session.
In the global market, gold advanced by $43 to trade at $4,638 per ounce, which includes a premium of $20.
Silver prices also moved higher, with the per tola rate rising by Rs500 to reach Rs9,575.
